Objectives

The Review Course will be a comprehensive review of all aspects of cardiovascular CT principles, methodologies, and clinical practice. It is designed to provide the participant with a rigorous and thorough knowledge base in preparation for the Cardiovascular CT Board Examination, through didactic lectures, image-based case examples, reviews of the research literature in cardiovascular CT, and test questions. The course will focus on the "core" knowledge that every practitioner of cardiovascular CT is expected to know, across a wide range of topics.

After participating in this activity, the participants should be able to better to:

  1. Describe the principles of how cardiac CT scanning, acquisition, and image reconstruction take place
  2. Identify common pathology that is diagnosed by cardiac CT, as well as discriminating artifacts and pitfalls
  3. Select and guide other physicians to select patients appropriately for cardiac CT examinations
  4. Elaborate and discuss potential roles for cardiac CT beyond coronary CT angiography, and the possibility as well as limitations thereof.

CME credits will be provided through the Center of Continuing Education, Tulane University Heath Sciences Center
