Cardiac Computed Tomography Self-Assessment Program
Brief Description: Cardiac computed tomography (CCT) is a rapidly emerging technology allowing physicians to noninvasively identify patients with a broad range of cardiac pathology ranging from subclinical atherosclerosis, obstructive coronary artery disease, and abnormalities of cardiovascular structure and function. In order to ensure that you have the tools you need to keep up with this change, the ACCF, in collaboration with the Society for Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT), is pleased to offer you its latest self-assessment program, CCTSAP. Developed by more than 40 world-renowned experts in the field, CCTSAP provides you with a wealth of expert opinion that is unmatched by any other single resource. Additionally, it meets COCATS Level 1 training requirements for the subject.

Practical Interpretation of Coronary Artery Computed Tomography on the Workstation DVD
Brief Description: A three DVD Teaching Program with over 100 mentored cases towards achieving ACCF/AHA level 1, 2, or 3 Cardiac CT Core Competency. The completion of this and the post test conveys 4CMEs and a letter from the course director indicating the completion of the 100 cases.
Faculty: Dr. Pim J. de Feyter, Dr. Eric E. Harrison, and Tracy Saunders.

The Cardiac CT Angiography Manual
Brief Description: Cardiac CT angiography (CTA) is a rapidly growing imaging modality that provides vital diagnostic information. Consequently, interest in training for this new modality is increasing exponentially, but few practical books are dedicated to the topic and education of cardiologists in the technique.

The primary purpose of the Cardiac CT Angiography Manual is to educate medical professionals in all relevant aspects of cardiac CTA and calcium scoring in a simple, practical, and concise manner. In addition, many difficult concepts that make learning cardiac CTA difficult are simplified and put into context. After reading this work, the reader will be taken from novice level to a level that will allow him or her to begin clinical training experiences and will serve as a reference and review for those who have already completed training.

Designed for residents and fellows in cardiology and radiology, this work makes difficult-to-understand concepts easy to comprehend, with the aid of simple, intuitive diagrams. Concepts and terminology are completely and simply defined and explained. The book also compiles an extensive amount of relative and difficult to obtain information in one place to serve not only as a simple educational tool but also as a reference once the reader is fully trained in using cardiac CTA.

May 8-10, 2008 30th Annual Recent Advances in Clinical Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiac CT: Featuring Case Review with the Experts
Sponsors: American College of Cardiology (ACC), American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) and American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC)
Location: JW Marriott, Washington DC
Description: Fine-tune your interpretive skills in SPECT and PET, and develop skills in interpreting CT coronary angiography and coronary calcium scoring. While emphasizing the practical aspects of gated SPECT, this program also incorporates the growing field of cardiac CT. A series of workshops allows you to work directly with the experts to review cases. Each workshop focuses on a specific technical or clinical problem, with attendees actively participating in case interpretations and time allotted for questions and answers. Specific emphasis will be placed on: 1) gated SPECT and pharmacologic stress, 2) quantitative and semi-quantitative image interpretation, 3) recognition of artifacts, 4) practical aspects of PET for myocardial perfusion and viability, 5) the emerging clinical role of cardiac CT, and 6) the complementary roles of cardiac CT and nuclear cardiology.

Faculty will also discuss the future of nuclear cardiology in the context of developments in cardiac CT and CMR.

Sponsors: American College of Cardiology (ACC), Society of Atherosclerosis Imaging and Prevention, Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance, University of Virginia Health System and Wake Forest University School of Medicine. In cooperation with the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography and the ACC Maryland Chapter.
Location: The Fairmont Washington, DC
Description: This exciting four-day conference will provide participants with an understanding of the principles and clinical utility of magnetic resonance imaging and computed tomography in the management of patients with cardiovascular disease. Participants will be exposed to the methods used to 1) select patients for study, 2) implement and analyze studies in an appropriate fashion, and 3) process the results of these studies for the purpose of managing patients with cardiovascular disease. The program features an in-depth look at basic and advanced clinical information presented through a combination of lectures, case presentations, panel discussions, workshops and hands-on laboratory sessions (using workstations). Participants will also benefit from sit-down sessions with faculty renowned for their wealth of clinical practice and investigative science expertise.
