Learn from experts in cardiac CT education! A 4 day course (Saturday to Tuesday), this course is taught by 4 level III physicians, all of whom are
diplomates of the CBCCT. You will exceed level II criteria for CME, cases and experience in 4 days. If you already have level II certification, our
4 day course will earn you level III credentials. Level III may also be obtained by attending 2 separate 4 day courses or by staying on with us for
the remainder of the week after your course. We do focus on board preparation as well!
Your education begins with a complimentary copy of our DVD lecture series and acclaimed Cardiac CT Angiography manual
mailed to your home for you to review before arrival. Days 1 and 2 are by the scanner for 50+ live real patient cases where studies are read on the spot for you by our faculty
while you observe and ask questions. We use the new and impressive Philips iCT 256 scanner and the Siemens 64 slice. We will also focus on radiation
sparing techniques. We prepare you by repetition, focusing on our proven, systematic reading approach that exceeds SCCT guidelines for reading and reporting.
Days 3 and 4 are for the 100+ mentored cases from our extensive and complete library of covering all areas of pathology. You will have your own
workstation (TeraRecon or Vital Images) to use in order to manipulate the data on your own. Then compare your reads to the complete official read
and to many cath, MR, TEE and TTE correlations. We have included in the library our extensive experience in adult complex congenital disease as well.
The faculty to student ratio is 3:1 and we are there for you 100% of the time answering your clinical and technical questions. In addition, we have
workstation application specialists there for you 100% of the time to focus on button-ology and workstation specifics.
All meals as well as all transportation to the course location from the hotel and back are provided for you. Our style is cordial and informal
to ease your comfort while with us.
Before you leave you will receive a completed SCCT verification application and free access to our impressive online board review program.
Maintenance training is available online and at your home. We also focus on continued CME. We have trained many radiologists, who are most
welcome. In addition, surgeons and international guests are most welcome! We aim to develop long lasting relationships with our students.
International training mini-fellowships are also available on request and we have trained cardiologists and radiologists from Egypt, Australia,
India, Canada and throughout Great Britain and main land Europe.
Search "cardiac CTA" on YouTube or iTunes for video testimonial.
Fee: $7500 for each 4 day course. Fellows in training: $5000
Payment plans available on request.

Additional Details
Level 2: An intensive 5 day course designed to accomplish level 2 competency in interpretation of cardiac CTA. The activity is held monthly at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland, in a multimedia classroom constructed specifically for the learner's needs. This is a workstation-based training program, designed to meet Level 2 credentialing guidelines. Each participant has his own workstation to use throughout the activity. After receiving training on the use of the workstation, a case library of over 150 cases selected to demonstrate the variety of pathology which can be evaluated by CT (coronary disease, bypass grafts, stents, anomalies, cardiomyopathies, EP, pericardial disease, cardiac tumors, etc) is reviewed. A minimum of 100 cases is reviewed during the 5 days onsite. Over twenty hours of didactic instruction is included through lectures and reading materials, which covers topics of patient selection, preparation, radiation, contrast, cardiac anatomy, assessment of cardiac function, cardiac pathology, etc. Participants are evaluated by means of a quiz designed to test mastery of the didactic material covered. The requirement for observation of the acquisition of 50 studies is satisfied by utilizing a combination of onsite observation of approximately 25 studies supplemented by interactive observation of approximately 25 studies performed offsite and viewed by interactive videolink. Participants have the opportunity to ask questions during acquisition of these studies (i.e., patient selection, use of beta blockers, etc) and to observe the steps in obtaining the scan by direct observation of the scanner console. The 50 scans that were acquired during the week of the activity are provided to participants for interpretation these on their own time through internet-based connection to our workstations, following the 5 days of onsite training. After faculty review of the participants' interpretation of these 50 studies and successful completion of the other elements of the activity, a certificate documenting completion is provided. The SCCT Level 2 validation form is completed for the participant.
Level 3: For participants who have already completed Level II, this set of 150 cases can be applied toward Level III, and represents an adequate caseload for the upgrade of credentials. A certificate documenting completion of the required caseload is provided, and the SCCT Level 3 validation form is completed for the participant.
The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine designates this educational activity for a maximum of 42.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

SCCT Endorsed Course
The most effective way to learn cardiac CT angiography is in a hands-on program where you do not share a 3D workstation with another student and you are mentored on all 150 cases (i.e., no cases are passively watched on DVD).
3 Day Class:Our 3 day Level 1 class also includes your live case requirement, allowing you to complete your Level 2 training without more time out of the clinic.
Self-Study Software Solution:At the end of the 3 day course, you have the option of training to Level 2 via self-study software solution or returning for more training. Our Mentor Self-Study Software recreates our live classroom setting through an interactive diagnostic scoring system, case videos, taped expert reviews and cath correlations. All cases are available for you to review on your Vital Images or TeraRecon workstation. If you choose to return to our center for in-person training, you may attend a 4-day finisher course.
5 Day Class:Our 5 day Level 2 class covers 150 mentored cases and 50 live cases, to meet all Level 2 guidelines. At the end of 5 days, you will have completed your Level 2 training. If you have already completed Level 2 training, you may attend a 5 day course toward Level 3.
Highlights: •Course led by luminary the entire time (not a fellow or secondary teacher)
•Learn our systematic review method
•Tuition is pro-rated if you have mentored cases from other courses
•Online didactics save you time out of the clinic
•Full-time dedicated CTA training center – support staff of 10 employees, including fulltime IT assistance for workstation maintenance
Be sure to read the reviews above and see why many students choose to train with us even after completing their training elsewhere!
Students who successfully complete this course will earn 64 CME credits and SCCT Verification of Experience.

Multimodality Cardiac Imaging Research Fellowship Cedars-Sinai Medical Center: July 2010
Rate this Course |
| Description: |
Applicants are invited to apply for a two year research fellowship in cardiac imaging, including cardiac CT, MRI, SPECT, PET, and echo.
Background: Increasingly, there is a demand that MDs involved in non-invasive cardiac imaging be experts in multiple modalities. There is a parallel strong need for faculty to perform research and teach in multimodality cardiac imaging.
Qualifications: The program is open to MDs who have completed a cardiology fellowship or radiology residency and are board eligible. The applicant should have clinical experience in multimodality cardiac imaging gained during residence or fellowship. Applicants should be planning a career in imaging research.
Program: The program is designed to foster the development of clinical investigators in cardiac imaging. The formal curriculum includes courses in techniques of clinical and animal imaging research, outcomes research, biostatistics, scientific writing, grant writing, and the ethics of research. The trainee may participate in the lecture series for residents and fellows, if desired. Approximately 80% of the fellowship time is devoted to research, and 20% is allotted to clinical work, so as to gain and maintain multimodality clinical cardiac imaging skills. The trainee is encouraged to choose a combination of at least two modalities for research concentration.
